Objectives are small quests that can lead you down a certain path or teach you how to do something in game. Completing an Objective will give you XP and Coin.

Basic Tutorial Objectives[ | ]

These objectives are for when you enter the game as a new Citizen. There are 5 basic tutorial objective to help you get started with your first Citizen.

A New Dawn[ | ]

This tutorial guides the new player through the first few steps in the Sanctum. You should practice movement and learn how to equip and use items and how to operate a Warp Conduit.

Move forward and explore the sanctum

Simply follow the hallway until you reach an open room. The purpose of this objective is to tech the player basic Movement controls.

Collect the Totem and Warp Augment

Stand next to the two stone [Plinths] to pick up the Totem and Warp Augment.

Equip the Totem

Open your Inventory with E or I (on PC) and drag the totem out of your inventory and into one of the slots of your left hand. It will remain in your inventory, but will become the currently selected item in your left hand.

Combine the Warp Augment with the Totem

With the inventory still open, drag either the Totem or the Warp Augment onto the other. This will arm the totem with the one-time special ability to create a warp location.

Use your Augmented Totem to select a Landing Site

Look up towards the World in the background and move your mouse or controller around to find a spot. You will see various markers appear on the globe indicating where existing Settlements are: you can choose to start close to an existing settlement or as far from civilization as possible, depending on your preferred playing style. When you've found a spot, hold down the right mouse button (on PC) until the Totem fires and an orange icon appears on the World.

Set your Warp Destination

Move to stand in front of the monolith to your left as you face the Citizen standing in the Sanctum. This is a Warp Conduit. Use the E key (on PC) to open the interaction menu of the Warp Conduit and select the location on the planet you just set in the previous step. There should be only one location, Landing Site, to choose from. Choose this then Open Warp to Here.

Break the Conduit Blocks with your Totem

Start clicking with appropriate control for your left hand action -- on PC, that is the left mouse button. This swings the Totem as if it were a weapon and breaks the blocks of the Warp Conduit. Hit the blocks until they crumble. This will activate the subspace connection.

Walk through the Warp

Pretty much what it says on the box: move your Citizen through the just-opened Warp. Your journey has begun.

Citizen, you have joined the Great Transmigration! Your journey will see you build new colonies, uncover new Resources and create travel links across the universe to ensure our survival. Take your trusty Totem in hand, go forth and uncover the mysteries of the Known Worlds and the Oort who came before. The rest, as they say, is up to you.

Setting Up Camp[ | ]

Gather Tree Trunks in your Inventory:

Collect 10 [Trunk]s. This is done by hitting wood blocks until they crumble and a small version of it floats on the ground. Getting close to this block will automatically put it in your inventory, unless your inventory is full. It does not matter what type of Wood you collect.

Gather Tree Foliage in your Inventory:

Collect 5 Foliage. This is done by hitting leaves until they crumble and a small version of it floats on the ground. Getting close to this block will automatically put it in your inventory, unless your inventory is full. It does not matter what type of foliage you collect. Grass does not count.

After collecting all of this, the objectives in the top left should turn green.

Handcraft a Campfire

Press E or I and switch to the Hand Craft tab. Click on the Campfire and craft.

Equip the Campfire

The Campfire will appear in your inventory. Drag it from your inventory into your right hand.

Place the Campfire to set up a temporary Base

Find a nice place, and use the control for right hand action (on PC, that's the Right Mouse Button) to place the campfire in the world.

Warping your way to a new beginning leaves you open to the dangers of a new World. Here, you'll need to claim Land to protect your Items both found and made from other Citizens and World Regeneration. A Campfire is an essential, albeit temporary way to secure your place in this World until you discover a more permanent solution.

The Campfire is a temporary item that will claim a Beacon with two Plots for about an hour. After the Campfire goes out, unless you have created a more permanent Beacon using a Beacon Control, the Plot will revert to your inventory of unused plots and the area in the world will go wild and regenerate to its original condition.

Energy to the Max[ | ]

Spend a Skill Point

Acquire Food:

Equip and eat Food:

Eat until you receive the Full Up Buff

As you travel across the Universe using your Gear you'll expend Energy and you'll need to eat to avoid Starvation! But beware, allowing your Energy levels to fall too low will reduce the amount of actions you can perform. Keep your Max Energy topped up by consuming Food or certain Brews and carry on performing to the Max. Eating plenty of food also gives you a Full Up Buff, which gradually restores Health over time. Raw Starberries and Earthyams can be found in Tree Foliage and Soil.
